Dating Is Like Interviews With Cocktails?

Updated: Apr 17, 2023

I like to think that dating is discovering.

Discovering yourself first...

The thrill of meeting someone new, the excitement of getting to know them, and the endless possibilities of what could be. It's like a job interview, but with cocktails.

But here's the thing, dating is not just about discovering someone else. It's also about discovering yourself.

You see, before you can truly connect with another person, you have to know who you are, what you want, and what you bring to the table. It's like a job interview. You wouldn't go into an interview without knowing anything about the company or the position you're applying for, would you? Of course not! You do your research, you prepare your answers, and you bring your best self to the table.

The same goes for dating. You have to know what you're looking for, what your deal-breakers are, and what you're willing to compromise on. You have to be confident in who you are and what you bring to the table. And most importantly, you have to be honest with yourself and with the person you're dating.

Dating is a process of getting to know someone in a more romantic or intimate context. This involves spending time with the other person, learning about their interests, values, and beliefs, and sharing experiences together. However, dating is not just about finding someone who fits our criteria or who is a good match for us. It's also about discovering who we are as individuals and what we want in a relationship.

In the process of dating, we may discover our own likes and dislikes, our own boundaries, and our own personal values. We may also discover what we need from a partner in order to feel fulfilled and happy in a relationship.

Additionally, dating allows us to discover other people and their unique qualities. By spending time with different people, we may gain a deeper understanding of what we are looking for in a partner and what we want in a relationship. We may also learn more about different perspectives, experiences, and lifestyles that we might not have encountered otherwise.

Ultimately, the process of dating is a journey of discovery, both of oneself and of others. It is an opportunity to learn about ourselves, to grow, and to explore what we want in a partner and in a relationship. Whether or not we find a romantic partner, the experience of dating can be valuable for personal growth and self-discovery.

And what about the cocktails? They're like a lubricant for the soul, a way to loosen up and let your guard down. But remember, alcohol can also cloud your judgment and make you say or do things you might regret...Enjoy the cocktails but don't let them cloud your vision.
